How'd Caty get into Theatre?
Caty has been involved in the theatre since she was a baby. When she was born, both her parents were already well established in the Chicago dinner theatre community and Caty and her twin sister, fellow talented actress, Erin Gordon, grew up in the audience of the Dry Gulch, watching their Dad perform as Sheriff Bob, in shows their Mom had directed, making feather hats with the actresses before the show, and getting to play on the stage after the rest of the audience went home.
The "acting bug" was caught and followed Caty and her sister through grade school, middle school, high school and college.
The bug landed Caty in the best theatre incubator, Chicago, where she first met her artistic home, Idle Muse, took her out to Los Angeles and brought her back to Chicago again!
Yes, Caty's Dad is still performing on stage! Caty and Erin got to watch him at Tommy Gun's Garage after Dry Gulch and now he's the King at Medieval Times!!!
Favorite Role So Far
Such an exciting and challenging role - physically, emotionally, mentally, vocally! It was such a delight to get to explore all of the parts of Sabina and try to bring her experiences to life. Treat her with the empathy she learned to treat the rest of the world. I also really enjoyed doing a Russian accent and there were things I think I didn't fully accomplish in this piece that I'd only love the chance to try again.

Dream Theatre Roles
Much Ado About Nothing - Beatrice
The Taming of the Shrew - Katerina
Hedda Gabler - Hedda Gabler
Three Sisters - Masha
The Seagull - Nina

Role Models
Just a few, but these are my favorite roles of theirs:
Amy Adams: Giselle in Enchanted, Sydney Prosser in American Hustle
Keira Knightley: Elizabeth Swan in Pirates of the Caribbean, Joan Clarke in The Imitation Game
Kate Winslet: April Wheeler in Revolutionary Road
Natalie Portman: Alice in Closer, Nina Sayers in Black Swan

Favorite Movie
The Original Trilogy of Star Wars to be fully honest, but if I had to pick just one, it would be
Star Wars Episode V: The Empire Strikes Back
This movie has everything. Action, romance, fantasy, love, comedy, finding oneself, learning and training, suspense!
To me, nothing in the Prequel Trilogy or Sequel Trilogy compare.
Favorite Celebrity Sighting
I believe it was the summer of 2013 and we were at Old Town Ale House in Chicago to celebrate one of my best friend's birthdays. Who should happen to be doing a show in Chicago at that time just down the street at his very own theatre company, but Michael Shannon with Red Orchid! My good friend, Max, and I were standing in front of the juke box at the bar and we had heard that Michael Shannon often came to the bar after the show, when THE Michael Shannon walked up to Max and I and said, "Can you move?" as he wanted to get to the juke box. I have loved him since watching him in Revolutionary Road. He's a phenomenal actor and another role model of mine.

Favorite Drink
Okay, the show is over and we're heading to the bar! No, despite popular belief, my favorite drink is NOT Malört. (Malört is about a right of passage into Chicago and strength of being a Chicagoan! And it's funny.) My favorite drink is an extra dirty gin martini if I'm going VERY fancy, but if it's more of a chill night, I'm getting a gin and soda with lime, please!
