When it rains, it pours!

So, this whole week has been an awesome time in Los Angeles. I've gotten the opportunity to do what I moved out to Los Angeles to do! ACT AND WORK ON A FILM SET and AUDITION! First, I got to be a PA and an extra on the set of MORE Productions' upcoming feature film WTF!

Here's me with fellow Illinois State Alum and LA actor, Nick Cardiff, AKA Sandwich on the set of WTF!

And here's me ready to film as an Extra on the set of MORE Productions' WTF!
Then, on Tuesday, as I was walking out to move my car, a common problem here in Los Angeles, just like in Chicago, it RAINED!

Yes. REAL LIVE RAIN in Hollywood, California! I don't think the draught has lifted, but it definitely felt like a CHANGE- and a GOOD one. And of course, as I'm walking around in the rain, what e-mail did I get, but an invitation to a commercial audition! My very first in California! There was just an overwhelming feeling of assurance that yes, change can be difficult and yes you will be homesick, but that doesn't mean change is BAD. As my wonderfully supportive boyfriend, fellow actor, Mike Hall would say, "Only thinking makes it so."

So, the audition was Wednesday afternoon and not only did it go extremely well, I got to audition WITH my boyfriend, Mike! It was the PERFECT first commercial audition in California! So perfect, I booked the role! Unfortunately, I wasn't able to do it due to work scheduling, but it definitely felt like a good thing for what's ahead!
This transition has been a difficult one for me, but as Steven Pressfield, author of The War of Art, says, "The most important thing about art is to work. Nothing else matters except sitting down every day and trying." And boy, am I trying!
