Shooting Robot Club with CSUN's Yu Han directing, Adrienne Landis writing and Chris Leyden producing was a blast!
Above from left to right is our director, Yu Han, Matthew Apodaca as Tim, Nick Beckwith as Tyler, me as Dolly, Chris Wu as Richard and Adrienne Landis, our producer!
This hilariously talented cast and crew became a family pretty quickly on set. Our first day was at Producer Chris Leyden's house filming a party scene. Matt and Chris got to improvise a lot which was great fun for them and anyone who was watching each take! I can only hope there will be a blooper and outtake reel attached to this project! Nick and I also had a ton of fun of really letting our characters' personalities shine through the script! Nick was great at improvising little bits of gold as well!

We had moments to take bad pictures after being on set for 7 hours as well!
The second day was the most fun as it was our last day with the complete cast and we were using the storage room of a soundstage at CSUN to be our storage room to our hardware store in the script! It was fun to get to work with the boys and we really created some great chemistry behind the scenes that really helped our relationships on screen! We got to shoot some great scenes of us sneaking into the dark back room, while Matt and Chris are scared as mice and screaming like girls and Nick looked right out of Tron or Iron Man!

It was sad to see our Robot wrapped at the end of our second day, but I think he, and the makeup artist, Karina, were somewhat grateful to not have to work with all of that silver paint again!
The third day was on location at a hardware store in Canoga Park and it was great fun creating this life for Tim, Richard and Dolly that they live day to day... before Tyler enters their lives! There is clear love between the three of them and frustration with their boring, purposeless lives. A great stasis before the inciting incident! We also got to shoot the end of the script and makeup was very fun for this last scene!

Chris Wu got a shiner and I had the smeared make up of a hungover college girl! It was a lot of fun and a great way to wrap a really fun shoot. I am excited about all of the friends I made and hope to get the chance to work with Yu, Adrienne, Chris Leyden, Chris Wu, Matt, Nick, our DOP Ozzy, our camera op, Alan, our 1st AD Rob and our 2nd AD Eric and the rest of the awesome crew again very soon! This whole shoot really reminded me why I'm here in LA pursuing acting in film and it had a great sense of camaraderie and family that you find with a passionate, purposeful, driven cast and crew!
