In 2020 I moved back to Chicago from Los Angeles as the Covid pandemic really shut down the entertainment industry, let alone the WORLD. Of course, it's hard to leave anywhere you've lived for five years and began to call home, but moving back to Chicago was multiple homecomings in one! Back to being close to my family, my close friends and getting to come back to my Artistic Home, Idle Muse Theatre Company!
Thankfully, in the spring of 2022 the Covid pandemic began to wane once more and more people were wearing masks and getting vaccinated and the Chicago Theatre community seemed to all agree that live theatre was a possibility again! That's when Idle Muse Theatre Company decided to put on a show about travelling to new lands, being shipwrecked, losing yourself and your family and finding them all again- it seemed a perfect show to do after Covid did much of the same to all of us in the world. I was cast as Marina in Upon This Shore: Pericles and the Daughters of Tyre and doing this show brought me so much more than just another credit on my resume. I found the theatre again, the community rehearsals and putting something up together can create, the guidance and safety from directors and fellow actors that have worked with me numerous times. I felt like I found myself again as an actor in this show and the actor I want to be. Much like Marina's journey in Evan Jackson's adaptation of Pericles!

I am now an active company member with Idle Muse and can see a future with it that excites me about acting that I haven't felt in a very long time! Plus, I'm getting to be a part of things I haven't really been a part of since high school or college, like set building and selling tickets at the box office!
Chicago and Los Angeles are very different towns and there are things to love and appreciate about both, but I am so grateful to be in Chicago getting to do what I really love!
